He has been with the group that designed UltraSparc CPU family at Sun Microsystems, U.S.A. for developing the fully automatic CAD flows from RTL to GDS-II. He was one of the original authors at the core R&D team which developed the famous EDA (CAD) tool,"First Encounter" product at Silicon Perspective Corp. (SPC), U.S.A. This product, First Encounter, became the number one product for Silicon Virtual Prototyping (RTL to layout), and SPC was later on acquired by Cadence Design System, Inc, U.S.A.. First Encounter, was later renamed as "SoC Encounter" after the acquisition and has become the flagship product platform for Cadence since then. His work at SPC and Cadence has obtained several U.S.A. Patents.
Since July 2004, he has been an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan.
Jui-Ming (Raymond) Chang was an author of a technical reference book in the area of System Level Synthesis Targeting Energy Optimization (It is one of the very few books at Behavioral and System Level Synthesis that use only robust formal methods instead of heuristics during the synthesis and optimization process), several USA Patents in EDA (CAD) methodoligy, and several top IEEE international journal and conference papers.
