Biographical sketch
Keang-Po Ho received his B.S. degree from National
Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1991, and the M.S. and Ph.D.
degrees from the University of California at Berkeley in 1993 and 1995,
respectively, all in electrical engineering. He performed research in IBM
T. J. Watson Research Center, Hawthorne, New York on all-optical
networks
in the summer of 1994.
He was a Research Scientist with Bellcore,
currently Telcordia
Technologies, Red Bank, New Jersey from 1995 to 1997, conducted
research on
optical networking, high-speed lightwave systems, and broadband access.
He has been with the Department
of Information Engineering of the Chinese
University of Hong Kong from 1997 to 2001. He was the Chief
Technology Officer and co-founder of StrataLight
Communications, Campbell, California from 2000 to 2003. He
has been with the Institute of Communication
Engineering and Department of
Electrical Engineering, National
Taiwan University since 2003.
His research interests include optical
communication systems, multimedia communication systems, combined
source-channel
coding, and communication theory. He has published over 70 journal articles, 10
issued or pending US patents, 70 conference articles on those fields. He is
the author of the book Phase-Modulated
Optical Communication Systems by Springer.
