Biography of Ruey-Beei Wu

Ruey-Beei Wu was born in Tainan, Taiwan, Republic of China, on October 27, 1957. He received the B.S.E.E. and Ph.D. degrees from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1979 and 1985, respectively.

In 1982, he joined the faculty of the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan University, where he is currently a Professor. He is also with the Graduate Institute of Communications Engineering established in 1997. From March 1986 to February 1987, he was a Visiting Scholar at the IBM East Fishkill Facility, NY. From August 1994 to July 1995, he was with the Electrical Engineering Department, University of California at Los Angeles. He is currently a Visiting Professor at Department of Information Technology of Gent University, Belgium, since March 2009. His areas of interest include computational electromagnetics, transmission line and waveguide discontinuities, microwave and millimeter wave planar circuits, and interconnection modeling for computer packaging. He has authored or co-authored more than 200 papers in international journals or conferences, among them more than 70 are in prestigious IEEE Transactions.

From May 1998 to April 2000, he was appointed Director of the National Center for High-performance Computing. He was also responsible for Taiwan¡¦s Next Generation Internet project anchored by the National Science Council and had built TANet2, the Taiwan¡¦s Research Network, and NBEN, the National Broadband Experimental Network in Taiwan. From November 2002 to July 2004, he served as Director of Planning and Evaluation Department, National Science Council, and charged with the policy setting, program planning, inter-ministerial coordination, budget allocation, and performance evaluation for national science and technology development in Taiwan. From August 2004 to July 2007, he served as the Chairperson of the Department of Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan University.

He is a member the Phi Tau Phi Scholastic Society, the Chinese Institute of Engineers, the Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineers, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the International Union of Radio Science (URSI). He served as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques from April 2005 to March 2008. He was elected and had served as the Chair of the IEEE Taipei Session during 2007 and 2008. He was bestowed the Youth of Scientific Talent Award by National Culture Renaissance Association in 1975, the Distinguished Research Awards by National Science Council in 1990, ¡¥93, ¡¥95, and ¡¦97, the Outstanding Young Scientist Fellowship by URSI in 1990, the Outstanding Young Engineer Award by Chinese Institute of Engineers in 1992, and the Outstanding Electrical Engineering Professor Award by Chinese Institute of Electrical Engineers in 1999.

Biography of Yi-Hsin Pang

Yi-Hsin Pang (Ãe¤@¤ß) was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Republic of China (R.O.C.), in 1972. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 1994 and 1996, respectively, and where he is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering. Biography of Chun-Long Wang

Chun-Long Wang (¤ý»a®e) was born in Taichung, Taiwan, Republic of China (R.O.C.), in 1972. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical communication engineering from National Chiao-Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 1995 and 1997, respectively. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering in National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C.. His areas of interest include flip-chip transition and filter designs.


Biography of An-Shyi Liu

An-Shyi Liu (¼B¦w¿ü) was born in Changhua, Taiwan, Republic of China (R.O.C.), in 1973. He received the B.S. degree in physics from Soochow University, Taipei, Taiwan, and the M.S. degree in biomedical engineering from National Yang-Ming University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1997 and 1999, respectively.
He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree at Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering in National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C.. His areas of interest include optimization in computational electromagnetics, base station antennas design, and biomedical signal process.


Biography of Guang-Hwa Shiue

Guang-Hwa Shiue (Á§¥úµØ) was born in Tainan, Taiwan, Republic of China (R.O.C.), in 1969. He received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 1995 and 1997, respectively. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering in National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C.. His areas of interest include computational electromagnetics and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in printed circuit board (PCB) .


Biography of Ting-Yi Huang

Ting-Yi Huang (¶À©wÂU) was born in Hualien, Taiwan, Republic of China, in 1977. He received the B.S. and M.S. degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 2000 and 2002 respectly, and where he is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering. His areas of interest include computational electromagnetics, computer graphics, and visualization.


Biography of Chen Shih-Yuan

Chen Shih-Yuan (³¯¤h¤¸) was born in Chang-Hua, Taiwan, Republic of China, in 1978. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 2000 and 2002 respectly, and where he is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering. His areas of interest include antenna and signal integrity.

Yu-Hao Liu (¼B¬êÅV) was born in Taichung, Taiwan, Republic of China in 1978. He receieved the B.S in electrical engineering from National Central University , Chung-Li, R.O.C., in 2001. He is currently working toward the M.S. degree in Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering, National Taiwan University, Taipei, R.O.C.


 

Biography of Shih-Wei Wang

Shih-Wei Wang (¤ý¤hÞ³) was born in Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China in 1978. He receieved the B.S in electrical communication engineering from National Chiao-Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 2001. He is currently working toward the M.S. degree in Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering, National Taiwan University, Taipei, R.O.C. His research interests are in the packaging effect of the metal shield and the circular filter of CPW.


Biography of Li-Sang Liiu

Li-Sang Liiu (¼B§©|) was born in Keelung, Taiwan, Republic of China (R.O.C.), in 1970. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Chung Yuan Christian University, Chung-Li, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 1995. He is currently working toward the M.S. degree in Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering, National Taiwan University, Taipei, R.O.C. His interest is Signal Integrity(SI) and focuses on the modeling and analysis of bent transmission lines and serpentine delay line.


Biography of Cheng-Fu Hung

Cheng-Fu Hung (¬x©Ó¨j) was was born in Taichung, Taiwan, Republic of China in 1976. He receieved the B.S in electrical and control engineering from National Chiao-Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 2001. He is currently working toward the M.S. degree in Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering, National Taiwan University, Taipei, R.O.C. His research interest is transition.


Biography of Ruei-Bo Sun

Ruei-Bo Sun(®]·ç§B) was born in Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China, on 11 Oct., 1980.He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 2002, and he is working toward the M.S. degree in Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering, National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan. His interest is Signal Integrity(SI) and might focus on the interconnection modeling on chip in future.

Biography of Ting-Huei Lin

Ting-Huei Lin (ªL®x½÷) was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Republic of China (R.O.C.), in 1965. He received the B.S. in mechanical engineering and M.S. and PH.D. degrees in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 1987 , 1991 and 2001, respectively.


Biography of Chun-Te Wu

Chun-Te Wu (§d«T¼w) was born in Tainan, Taiwan, Republic of China (R.O.C.), in 1968. He received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from Chung Yuan Christian University and M.S. degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 1990 and 1995, respectively.  He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering. His areas of interest include computational electromagnetics and the thin-slot formalism for finite difference time domain analysis.


Biography of Sheng-Mou Lin

Sheng-Mou Lin (ªL¸t¿Ñ) was born in Taoyuan, Taiwan, Republic of China on September, 1977. He received the B.S. degree in Electro-Physics from National Chiao-Tung University, Hsin-Chu, Taiwan in 1999. He is currently working toward the M.S. degree at the Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering in National Taiwan University. He is interested in the Delta-I noise in the power and ground planes.


Biography of Wen-Hua Tu 

Wen-Hua Tu (Ò\¤å¤Æ) was born in Jia-yi, Taiwan, Republic of China on May, 1977. He received the B.S. degree in communication engineering from National Chiao-Tung University, Hsin-Chu, Taiwan in 1999. He is currently working toward the M.S. degree at the Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering in National Taiwan University. He is interested in microstrip line to waveguide transition design.


Biography of Shei-Chieh Yang

Shei-Chieh Yang (·¨¥@³Ç) was born in Taichung, Taiwan, Republic of China(R.O.C.), in 1977. He received the B.S. degree in power mechanical engineering from Tsing-Hua University, Hsin-Chu, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 1999, and where he is currently working toward the M.S. degree at the Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering in National Taiwan University. His current research interests include applying micromachining techniques for the development of low loss filter and diplexer for millimeter-wave communication system.

Chao-Nung Chi (¬ö¥ü¿@) was born in Taichung, Taiwan, Republic of China in 1976. He receieved the B.S in electrical engineering from Chuang Yuan Christian University , Chung-li, R.O.C., in 1999. He is currently working toward the M.S. degree in Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering, National Taiwan University, Taipei, R.O.C.


Biography of Heng-Chia Chang

Heng-Chia Chang (±i«í¹Å) was born in Taipei, Taiwan, Republic of China, on March 8, 1976. He received the B.S.E.E. degree from National SunYat-sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in 1998. He is working toward the M.S.E.E. degree in National Taiwan University. 


Biography of Chun-Zen Tsai

Chun-Zen Tsai (½²«T¥ô) was born in Taiwan, Taiwan, Republic of China (R.O.C.), in 1978. He received the B.S. degree in communication engineering from National Chao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 2000. He is currently working toward the M.S. degree in Graduate Institute of Communication Engineering, National Taiwan University, Taipei. His areas of interest include electromagnetic analysis and applications of microwave devices.
