Wei-Lun Liang, Hui-Kai Shen, and Guo-Dung J. Su propose a multichannel imaging system that combines the principles of an insect’s compound eye and the human eye. Their study was published in the
Applied Optics under the title, “Wide-angle camera with multichannel architecture using microlenses on a curved surface,” and selected as the cover article for the June 10, 2014 issue.
