智慧聯網(也稱為, Internet of things (IoT), machine-to-machine (M2M),或物聯網)，將成為次世代技術趨勢。在未來十年，數十億或數百億的智慧感測器將收集數據，交流資訊，相互協助並作訊號處理，且能提示人或機器來做出更好的決策與行動。如此將能大大提高我們的生活品質，諸如行車安全，老人照護，能源供應/利用，農業保護，商品分發/銷售，等等。本課程會對此刻劃「未來美麗新世界」的智慧聯網做一個簡介。
